Obsessions by Moni is a brand that was created for the love of women bearing in mind the many beautiful ways women can be seen and appreciated.
At OBM, we believe every woman has a perfect outfit for her body structure, silhouette and skin tones. Therefore our focus was on enhancing confidence, poise and elegance in all our pieces while aiding inclusivity across the globe for every woman.
The name Obsessions was calved out of the passion and drive of the Founder, having been able to hold on to such a dream far back as her childhood, she was so obsessed with being a girl, dressing up and looking absolutely clean always. Moni always loves to radiate in her femininity and when she wanted to choose a name for her brand she wanted both her name on it and her love for it as well. OBM is simply watching a girl child’s dream come true.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Our founder Moninuola, is a Nigerian female born into a Yoruba family in the heart of Lagos, Nigeria. As a young girl, her world had always revolved around fashion, she loved clothes and playing dress up with her mom, as an only child whose mom was also a fashion designer, it was a joy being a young model as young as the age of 12.
She was introduced to modeling as a young girl and the rest was history, from being taught how to catwalk, to doing so many runway shows for Nigerian and international designers through her modeling agency. Right after her secondary education in Lagos, Nigeria, she was advised to audition for MBGN ( Most beautiful girl in Nigeria) pageant. She made it into the top 36 but couldn’t go further.
With love and support from her family, she took this loss gracefully and went ahead to study health science at the University leaving modeling behind. As her passion for fashion never withered, she enrolled into a fashion school right after graduation which led to the birth of OBM.
